History of The Ocala Strip
The Ocala Strip has a long history dating back to the early days of Ocala's development. In the late 19th century, the area was known as the "East End" and was home to a number of boarding houses and hotels. The area began to decline in the early 20th century, however, as the railroad bypassed it in favor of a more direct route to downtown Ocala. The area began to rebound in the 1970s, however, when a number of businesses moved in. The Ocala Strip has since become a popular destination for shopping, dining, and entertainment.

Ocala Golf Club
The Ocala Golf Club is one of the oldest golf clubs in Florida. The club was founded in 1931 and is located on East Silver Springs Blvd. It has a 18-hole, par-72 golf course and five sets of tees that range in length from 4,200 to 6,500 yards. The Emerald Dwarf Bermuda Greens offer a smooth putting surface with minimal to no grain. There are many shot options on the greens thanks to the short grass collection areas and white sand bunkers. The Ocala Club is a perfect location for business gatherings, meetings, and other social occasions thanks to the large clubhouse's banquet space, and grill room.
Fort King National Historic Landmark
Fort King was a United States military fort built in 1827. It was located in what is now downtown Ocala, on the east bank of the Ocklawaha River. The fort was named for Colonel John B. King, who commanded the Florida militia during the Second Seminole War. It was one of a series of forts built by the United States Army to protect settlers from Seminole attacks. Tuscawilla Park
A park located near the Ocala Strip with a variety of recreational activities, including a playground, splash pad, an amphitheater, and walking trails. The Reilly Arts Center, the Discovery Science Center, and the Ocala Symphony Orchestra are also located in Tuscawilla Park.
Historic Downtown Ocala and Ocala Downtown Square
Downtown Ocala is the historic central business district of the city. It is home to a number of businesses, restaurants, and shops, as well as the Marion County Courthouse. The Ocala Downtown Square is a public park located in the center of downtown where events and festivals are often held.
